- Swarms and splits; summer management and honey production

INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT AFTERNOON
When: 1pm – 4pm
Wendi Gilson, our area bee inspector, has offered to give a free presentation on IPM. It is a fact of life that we need to know how to manage pests and diseases in our bee colonies. This is a great opportunity to learn how to care for your bees and keep them healthy.
Both sessions will be offered free with donations welcome.

Just as a reminder, the Club has two extractors for rental ($5 per day) to aid your honey extraction. If you’re interested, please send a mail to: Nanaimobeekeepers@gmail.com
Membership is from January 1st to December 31st.
DUES are $10 per year, payable at the January meeting or submitted via mail using the membership form below . Membership benefits are Monthly meetings with special guest speakers, beekeeping demonstrations, question and answer sessions, access to honey production equipment, bee yard, library and a variety of other information sharing opportunities.
Members have an option of joining the BC Honey Producers Association http://www.bcbeekeepers.com/. Membership fees are based on number of colonies, and includes subscriptions to the BCHPA newsletter, Bee sCene, and the Canadian Honey Council newsletter, Hive Lights, as well as options on purchasing liability insurance.
